Australian seafood emergency plan

Responding to emergencies promptly and appropriately is key to limiting their impact. 

With this is mind, Seafood Services Australia has put into practice a

plan to deal with emergency seafood situations such as food spoilage and contamination. 

The plan includes a framework so that national and state organisations are able to reposnd in a unified way.

The Seafood Incident Response Plan was developed  in consultation with industry and governments and aims to:

• provide a proactive, easy-to-follow response to adverse incidents in the seafood industry
• maintain Australia’s reputation as a provider of safe, high-quality seafood to its customers
• strengthen consumer confidence in Australian seafood.
