Global aquaculture 2010

In the last 10 years global aquaculture has grown substantially, reaching 52.5 million tons in 2008 compared with 32.4 million tons in 2000. The report from the FAO give an overview of world aquaculture. Aquaculture continues to be the fastest growing animal food sector, aquaculture accounts for nearly half of the worlds food fish consumption (45.6 percent).
